okay so I was already side-eyeing the rekindled couples from earlier in the season — like Wongyu-Jihyun and Woojin-Jiyeon getting back together felt so 🤨 to me. Woojin I'll let slide because he was CLEARLY ride-or-die from day one, but the other three? Especially Jihyun and Jiyeon?? These girls were out here catching feelings for other people, going on solo dates, doing the whole thing — and then just… folded and ran back to their exes like nothing happened. The audacity. And the WILD part is everyone watched each other flirt and go on cute little dates with other people IN REAL TIME and then just collectively decided to pretend it never occurred??? The social dynamics on this show are actually unhinged.
But THIS episode with Minkyung and Seungyong takes the cake fr fr. Both of them were literally CLINGING to Yusik and Hyunji respectively — like full parasocial attachment energy — and now they end up together?? With each other?? And if I'm remembering correctly, didn't Minkyung and Seungyong literally form some kind of alliance to try and break up Yusik and Hyunji?? 💀💀💀 They were WORKING TOGETHER to sabotage another couple and now they're a couple themselves. Look, I get it — this is literally what the show is designed for, the whole format is built on messy feelings and shifting loyalties. But this season feels less like a dating show and more like a nature documentary. David Attenborough could narrate this and it would go HARD.
